Material

Bronze · approximately 15–20 g, depending on size.

Bronze can naturally leave green marks on your skin. This discoloration is non-toxic and results from the metal reacting with your skin’s natural oils and moisture. How much it appears varies from person to person.

Material care

A thin coat of clear nail polish inside the band can help reduce these marks.

Benedict of Nursia
OSB (Latin: Benedictus Nursiae; Italian: Benedetto da Norcia; 2 March AD 480 – 21 March AD 547), commonly referred to as Saint Benedict, was an esteemed Italian Christian monk, prolific writer, and respected theologian. His legacy extends across various Christian denominations, including the Catholic Church, the Eastern Orthodox Church, the Oriental Orthodox Churches, the Anglican Communion, and Old Catholic Churches. In recognition of his profound influence, Pope Paul VI officially designated Benedict as a patron saint of Europe in 1964.

Benedict's remarkable journey began with the establishment of twelve monastic communities for monks in Subiaco, located in present-day Lazio, Italy, approximately 65 kilometers (40 miles) east of Rome. Subsequently, he ventured southeastward to Monte Cassino, nestled in the mountainous region of central Italy. It was here that Benedict founded one of his most renowned monastic communities. The contemporary Order of Saint Benedict traces its origins to these early foundations, though it is more accurately described as a confederation of independent congregations, rather than a traditional "order" in the conventional sense.
