WHAT IS INTAGLIO?
Intaglio is an intricate and centuries-old printmaking technique that involves creating images or designs by incising them into a surface, typically a fine stone, with great precision and detail. The term "intaglio" originates from the Italian word for "carving" or "incising," and it perfectly describes the process involved.

The Engraving
"IC XC NI KA" is an ancient Christian acronym with profound spiritual significance. These letters represent the Greek words "Ιησούς Χριστός Νικά," which translate to "Jesus Christ Conquers." This phrase encapsulates a core message of Christian faith – the triumph of light over darkness, good over evil, and the ultimate victory of Christ's teachings and love. It serves as a reminder that even in times of hardship and adversity, the power of Christ prevails, offering hope, redemption, and a path towards salvation. "IC XC NI KA" inspires believers to hold steadfast in their faith, knowing that through Christ, they can conquer the challenges of life and find spiritual fulfillment.
History
In the ancient world, emeralds were prized not just for their beauty, but for their deeper meaning. Roman scholars and early Christian leaders believed the stone symbolized wisdom, faith, and divine protection. It was said that emeralds adorned the breastplates of high priests and the crowns of emperors, a reflection of their sacred status.
As Christianity spread through the empire, emeralds became a symbol of spiritual renewal and God’s creation, their deep green hue representing eternal life. Worn by the faithful, they served as a reminder of God’s presence and the unshakable strength of belief.
This ring, crafted with the Chi Rho—the mark of Christ—engraved in intaglio upon emerald, carries that same legacy. A symbol of victory in faith, of wisdom passed down through generations, and of devotion that stands the test of time.

The Stone
Each stone is intricately carved so that it recesses into the surface. When ink or wax is applied to these carved grooves and pressed onto paper, they create a distinct, raised impression.
What does the inscription on the side mean?
The inscription on the outer edge of the ring, "Domine Iesu Christe, Fili Dei, miserere Mei peccatoris" translates to "Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner".
This plea is deeply rooted in Christian tradition, reflecting a call for divine mercy. It echoes the humility and devotion found within the heart of the believer, serving as a constant reminder of their faith and the redemptive power of Christ's love.

Heritage
Wearing the Emerald Chi Rho Intaglio is like carrying a piece of the past, a link to the devotion of early Christians and the legacy of their faith. More than a ring, it is a symbol of resilience, belief, and the enduring power of God’s guidance—meant to be cherished for generations.
